• Jacket Fever •

Even fossils know that one wardrobe staple of any style-holic girl is a blazer, and now that the fall is here, what better a reason do we need to bring them all out?

When I say they are a wardrobe’s staple, oh… believe me, because that’s one layer that can do wonders to how you look. A blazer can instantly uplift any outfit & it adds structure and curve to your body. A classy look, In shape body, can make a t-shirt dress look Uptown! What more can you ask for?

This fall, besides the essential denim, the versatile trench coat, and the Oh! so awesome biker jackets, here are some jaw dropping delicious options you wouldn’t mind stuffing your closets with. I’m thinking, how not to go bankrupt by hitting the ‘Add to cart’ on all of them :O

It’s rather simple to style a blazer, that is, throw it on and TA DA! Look ravishing 😀

Nevertheless I would love to share some looks, which are my favorite.

A Jacquard blazer •1
What can you wear it with:
Get your hands on a almost close, jacquard pants and make it a suited up look with an eggshell toned chiffon blouse.
If not the same color, try burnt red jacquard pants with this deep green-gold blazer.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
Works just perfect when it ends just above your bottom

Who can wear it:
This blazer is quiet a tailored option, so works well for all body-types.
If it doesn’t  cinch at your waist (narrowest part of your torso, around where you bend) and is any higher or lower, get it altered.

Where can you wear it to:
From board meeting to a official evening gathering, let this look spoil you with its Lavishness.

Contrast Lapel Blazer •2
What can you wear it with:
The neutrals are very giving, so try a deep green cropped trouser, with a charcoal gray t-shirt, finish you look with ankle strap nude heels.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
Again look for a perfect waist cinch, blazer wont work, if they a size bigger or smaller.

Especially a tailored blazer is supposed o fit the body you have.

Who can wear it:
A 100% for all body types. Trendy, Classy, and a good fit.

Where can you wear it to:
Coffee dates, A casual evening out.
Replace the heels with ankle strap flats and run errands in style, carry a tan shopper bag.

Clean Long coats •3
What can you wear it with:
This does well with a contrast. Try wearing them with camel color leather shorts, or even stripped denim, and a plain georgette blouse. Depending on the edginess of the shorts, pick chunky heels / classy boots.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
When it ends just an inch or two above your knee, and buttons a little below your natural waist. You could also go for a boxy fit long coat.

Who can wear it:
If you choose to keep it open buttoned then well body no bar. Though the apple shaped and the petite women should avoid the box fits.

Where can you wear it to:
Cafe times with your girl friends, Lunch dates and a perfect tourist-y outfit

A textured woolen coat •4
What can you wear it with:
Looks effortlessly chic, when paired with boyfriend jeans, and a monotone printed t-shirt. Will also work just fine with cropped denim shorts, and a tucked in deconstructed t-shirt. Finish the look with a bling brooch, and combat boots.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
If the shoulder fit well, you have it all in place.

Who can wear it:
With all the volume it might not be the one thing to go for an apple or a pear shaped women, but for the others it will work wonders.
For the apple and the pear, girls, try this over a fit and flare dress and fasten both layers with a belt. Something tells me you will look like a million bucks. Wear it with cowboy boots.

Where can you wear it to:
A perfect weekend get away.

Solid colored blazer •5
What can you wear it with:
I would wear this with a nude / pastel shade jumpsuit with a belt, & for a more casual take, it would look rather sexy with a lace romper / flowy day dress.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
A boy-friend blazer is more relaxed than a tailored blazer. It essentially should look like you stole it from your boy friend. It should be long enough to cover your bottom, but should fit comfortable at the shoulders

Who can wear it:
Everybody! & you can wear it everywhere. This should be the second blazer every girl gets, first being a tailored blazer.

Where can you wear it to:
The jumpsuit look works well for a work wear & for the casual looks it will take you right from running errands to a date, as if you were super women.

Leather lapel Blazer •6
This trend goes many ways some have sleeves in different fabric, some give a twist to the pockets. If you have a different option, write to me with a picture I will help you put together a look 🙂

What can you wear it with:
This blazer is a versatile piece. It will work up a form fitting dress, or a formal fit and flare dress to adding sophistication to a simple trouser shirt look.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
Around the waist and the shoulders is the key. The length can be different for different body types. Read on!

Who can wear it:
Pear: Let the blazer end above or below your bottom for a slimming effect
Apple: Works best if the Blazer ends above your bottom, because then it can balance your heavy torso by showing a little curve at the bottom, and cinching at the waist
Inverted triangle: Go easy with the shoulder pads. When you pair it with a dress wear it open buttoned.
Ruler and hourglass: Its all about balance so if its with a dress, let the dress be form fitting one. Flared trousers work best for you, when the blazer is buttoned.

Where can you wear it to:
To work

Metallic blazer •7
What can you wear it with:
A metallic is more than just stain sheen. So keep the layers under simple. A simple sheath dress or blouse + jeans look will give your a touch of glam, with a twist. Try wearing white denims for a sophisticated look

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
Should end an inch below your natural waist, and fit comfortably when zipped up

Who can wear it:
It’s a must have, I believe, for ever girl. I don’t back the popular belief that women with heavy bust should avoid it. I don’t think so!

Where can you wear it to:
Anywhere casual! You can also pair it with a dressy dress and tone down the costume-y ness a little.

Nude shade long coat •8
What can you wear it with:
Mix it up with a pale orange blouse, white trousers, leather wedge heels and a oversized clutch bag.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
When it ends just an inch above your knee, and fits your shoulders well.

Who can wear it:
Because of its tailored construction it fits the bill of all body types.

Where can you wear it to:
Work wear, formal Cafe meetings.

Printed blazers •9
What can you wear it with:
I love an all white look with a printed blazer. Pick a golden belt, and metallic heels to finish your look.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
Print is an attribute over any kind, be it a tailored / a biker jacket.

Who can wear it:
Well-balanced body fames can go for bolder printer and colors, but if you have a heavy torso try and keep it subtle.

Where can you wear it to:
It’s the layers under the print and the fit of the jacket you need to look at. This jacket would take me to work with a white trouser and chiffon blouse and it would also take me for a girls date at a chic brunch hangout in white studded denim shorts and a dull grey t-shirt.

Studded cropped jacket •10
What can you wear it with:
With all the edginess I cannot help but think of a pale green / blue flowy mid thigh length dress and ankle boots. Pull on a pair of stockings for the chiller days.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
Perfect shoulder fit, and length, else it will look sloppy.

Who can wear it:
If you are pairing it with skinny denims, a pear shape must avoid it because of its length.

Where can you wear it to:
It’s a casual-anythingist 😀 so have fun 🙂

Peplum jacket •11
What can you wear it with:
A powerful look would be a leopard print pencil skirt and a light mustard blouse.

When is it perfect, a fit tip:
Curvy girls should own at least one peplum, a top / skirt / dress / this.
This is a wonder piece with the right fit can make both the lean and the curvy girls look very  shapely.

Who can wear it:
Like I said earlier, every body-type.

Where can you wear it to:
Work wear, boardroom and interviews.

Aah! There you go. Another piece for your fall’s shopping list. A purchase that will make it’s way into my closet for sure. If you have anything specific you want to know about styling blazers write to me.
