So, we just stepped into August and the talk of summer and spring essentials is almost going to be passé soon. September will bring on Fall and you might already be planning your shopping lists or wish lists. No matter how many new pieces you add to the wardrobe knowing the trends of the season surely helps.
So early on, we have put together a list of biggest and most wearable trends of Fall 2013. Yes, you can wear these in some way off the ramp. But, we won’t leave you wondering even there we would surely dole out some advice and shopping lists as well. But first let’s check out what happened on the runways… your absolute need-to-know runway reports.
Shades of Blue
Designers all over have fallen in a keen love with blue… and all shades of blue to be precise. We spotted this trend on the runways of Valentino, Carven, Chloe, Roberto Cavalli, Acne studios etc. There was cobalt blue, powder blue, periwinkle blue, the barely-there blue, the almost-black navy blue and so on… you name it.
Shades of Green
This one of course was quite expected. After all Emerald Green is the color of the year but the fall trends were simply not limited to it. We saw fresh takes on green on Tibi, Oscar De La Renta, Balmain etc. Choose the hue you love and you could be rocking the coming months.
So this is news right. Welcome with open arms velvet and velour. But not the Juicy Couture Jumpsuit kinds, and certainly not in those colors either. We are talking about richer and tailored velvets. Think gowns like Reem Acra, blazers like Emporio Armani or evening jumpsuits like Diane von Frustenberg.
Embellishments and shine
Shine on was the motto of many a designers for their evening wear. And so were heavy embellishments. But this trend off the runway is best done in measures that you are comfortable with according to occasion and time. But for some inspiration look towards Marc Jacobs, Preen, Lanvin, Guuci, Topshop Unique and Balmain.
To all the 90s kids out there, or whoever who loved the 90s its good news as grunge is officialy fashionable again. So go ahead layer, purchase some tartans, do graffiti DIYS if you like but do it all with the classy attitude of 2013, to avoid being dated. Featured here are Ashish, Givenchy, Jenna theo, Chanel, Emporio Armani and Roksanda Ilincic.
There is something about being colored just like snow in winters that catches our fancy time and again. Earlier, people would have told you White is not for winter. Well, rules change and winter white has been strong for a couple of seasons now. It is still going strong thanks to Mulberry, Tibi, Theyskins Theory, Fendi, Giambatistta Valli, BCBG Max Azria etc.
Finally it is the season of Over-sized coats. After tempering with proportions for several seasons in the name of Boyfriend Blazers, jeans, jackets etc. the over-sized trend is here to rule Fall 2013 as well. This time it is coats. But yes there is a trick to wearing these as well. We will surely cover it here with sure shot tips. Check out Celine, Peter pilotto, 3.1 philip lim, Giambatiista Valli, Donna Karan and Carven for now.
